Therapy Fees & Insurance Information

Everything You Need to Know Before Your
First Appointment

Beginning therapy is an investment—not only in your mental health, but in the life you want to create moving forward.

I believe that deciding to seek support should feel as straightforward and stress-free as possible. Below, you’ll find information about session fees, insurance coverage, payment options, and appointment policies so you can proceed with confidence.

Individual & Couples Therapy Fees

Individual Therapy
60-minute session
$160

Individual sessions provide dedicated time to explore your experiences, gain practical coping strategies, and work toward meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Couples Therapy
90-minute session
$325

Couples sessions provide additional time for both partners to feel heard while strengthening communication, rebuilding trust, resolving conflict, and creating healthier relationship patterns together.

Insurance Coverage

As a Registered Social Worker in Ontario providing psychotherapy services, my work is eligible for reimbursement through many insurance providers. Because every plan is different, I recommend contacting your insurance provider before your first appointment to confirm:

  • Coverage for Registered Social Worker (RSW) and psychotherapy services
  • Your reimbursement amount
  • Annual coverage limits
  • Whether a physician’s referral is required (if applicable)

After each session, you’ll receive a receipt to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Frequently Asked Questions About Therapy Fees and Insurance

Individual therapy sessions are approximately 60 minutes, while couples therapy sessions are approximately 90 minutes.

Sessions begin and end at the scheduled appointment time. If you arrive late, your session will still conclude at the original end time out of respect for the appointments that follow. If I’m ever delayed, you will always receive your full session.

There isn’t a single answer that’s right for everyone.

Some clients benefit from weekly sessions, while others prefer bi-weekly or monthly appointments. Together, we’ll discuss your goals, lifestyle, and the level of support that feels most appropriate for you.

As your needs evolve, so can your therapy schedule.

Yes. If you’re unsure whether therapy is the right fit or have questions before getting started, I offer a 15-minute complimentary consultation. It’s an opportunity for us to connect, discuss what’s bringing you to therapy, and ensure you feel comfortable before moving forward.

Individual therapy costs $160, and couples therapy costs $325.

In many cases, yes. As a Registered Social Worker offering psychotherapy services, my sessions are covered by most extended health benefit plans. Since coverage varies by provider, I encourage you to confirm your plan details before your first appointment.

Payment is due at each therapy session. There is no requirement to prepay for future appointments.

Payment can be made by e-transfer or cash.

Absolutely. A detailed receipt is provided after each session that you can submit to your insurance provider if your plan includes Registered Social Worker coverage.

Your appointment time is reserved exclusively for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments, are subject to the full session fee.

Providing advance notice allows another client the opportunity to access support during that time.
